The Boise Hawks announced a partnership that will see Hawks games broadcast on 99.1 FM ESPN Boise for the 2018 season. The station’s listening audience covers the entire Treasure Valley.
The Hawks radio broadcasts begin on Friday, June 15 when the Hawks will open the season on the road against the Spokane Indians. The club’s first home game of the 2018 season follows five days later on June 20 when the team opens the season at Memorial Stadium against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes at 7:15 p.m.
Live coverage begins 15 minutes prior to the start of each Hawks game with the pre-game show hosted by play-by-play announcers Rylan Kobre. Kobre is a Boise State graduate in Spring of 2018 and spent last year in Wisconsin as the Radio Broadcaster and Media Relations Coordinator for the Kenosha Kingfish of the Northwoods League. He can be heard on IdahoSports.com calling high school athletics in the Treasure Valley and calling Boise State athletics on the Mountain West Network. Fans will also be able to listen online on at ESPNBoise.com and BoiseHawks.com and via the ESPN Boise, MiLB First Pitch and TuneIn Radio mobile apps.
“This is a really special opportunity for me because as much as I love baseball, I am just as passionate about radio,” Kobre said. There is a romance in the summer that exists between the two and I’m glad I’ll be on ESPN Boise for every game.
“I’ve lived in Boise the last four years and I love this community. Every night I’ll try and give Hawks’ fans a quality broadcast and I hope they walk away learning something new each night.”
