This week, an email sent by Sir Nigel Kim Darroch, the British Ambassador, was leaked to the press. He called Trump's administration as "faction-ridden, diplomatically clumsy, and inept". What can I say? The truth hurts!
President Donald Trump, as usual, had toddler tirade on Twitter, calling the Ambassador "very stupid" and "wacky." The sad part of this whole affair, is that the Ambassador resigned his position. What does this mean for other Ambassadors to the U.S.? Do we not give them the same freedom of speech that we give our own citizens?
There are many incidences within the Trump administration which prove the truth of the Ambassador's words. Look at how many of Trump's closest allies are in jail, facing indictment, or have been relieved of their position in the administration. Trump has insulted many of our allies, including Theresa May, the prime minister of the United Kingdom; Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Angela Merkel, the chancellor of Germany. He has nothing but praise for dictators like President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un, leader of North Korea. He'd probably praise Osama bin Laden if Barack Obama hadn't killed him.
Why can he speak out about our allies, but their representative can't privately voice his opinion? I don't know who leaked the private communication, but they didn't do anyone any favors. We lost a good diplomat, who has served his country well, and was only doing his job, reporting on what he sees in our country. It frightens me that our toddler and chief has his little hissy fits, and gets his way. Why does he hold such power? He proves time and time again that he is not fit to be president. I hope that the country wakes up and that there is a blue wave in 2020. I don't think that the country will survive four more years of Trump!
