Jeanne Huff will be starting Monday as the new community engagement editor here at the Idaho Press-Tribune.
Many of you who have lived in the Treasure Valley for a while no doubt recognize Jeanne’s name and probably remember her from her days at the Idaho Statesman for her work on the Life Section. I know I remember her work there.
She was features editor, columnist and reporter. She created and wrote the popular Sunday column, “Treasure Hunt,” which many of you probably remember.
Of late, Jeanne has been with the Idaho Business Review as its special sections editor, editing and writing articles for several annual publications.
At the Idaho Press-Tribune, she’ll be taking over our community sections.
Readers of the Press-Tribune are probably aware of our move a year or so ago to eliminate the third section of the daily paper and tuck those special pages (Health, Homestyle, Money, Outdoors, A&E) into the A section. Well, I’m happy to report that, with Jeanne’s guidance, we are bringing back the third section of the paper.
Because Jeanne has such a remarkable track record in this area, I’m going to do my best to just get out of her way. I don’t know what these end products are going to look like yet, but I am excited to see what Jeanne comes up with. We have some basic ideas, but for the most part, a lot of it is a blank canvas, and I can’t wait to see how Jeanne fills it up.
