Caldwell - Richard L. Matlock, 90 went to be with our Lord and Savior, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Caldwell, Idaho. He was born on August 6, 1932 to Samuel and Mildred Zoe Matlock. He graduated High School in 1950, as Senior Class President and Captain of the Football team in Alamogordo, New Mexico. He joined the U.S. Air Force the same year. On August 31, 1952, he married Peggy Lewis. Richard and Peggy had three daughters, Renee, Vicky, and Jere. The Air Force transferred him to Idaho where they made Idaho their forever home. Dad retired from the Air Force in 1971. Soon after, Dad and Mom opened Peggy's TV in Caldwell. About 10 years later, they closed the TV business and moved to Milford, Connecticut, where Dad took a job with Sikorsky Aircraft. After he retired again, they returned to Idaho. Mom passed away on January 20, 2012. He married Hazel LaBeaf on May 13, 2012, and remained with her until his death. Richard was also known as "Muncie" by his Granddaughter Becky, and great-grandchildren Dustin, Tanner, and Emiley Walling. Richard is survived by his wife, Hazel, and children Vicky Blankenship (Chris), Jere Bower (Doug), David (Linda), Kenneth, and Michael (Ramona) LaBeaf. Grandchildren: Becky Walling (Chris), Steve Blankenship, Holly Norby (Matt), Lee Blankenship (Chelsea), Matthew Blankenship (Heidi), and many Great Grandchildren, his sisters, Beverly Harris and Janice Matlock. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Peggy, and his daughter Renee. Condolences may be sent to Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, Idaho.
