Students were dismissed to the football field. Many remained there until school officials got buses to take them home early. Others who drove vehicles to school stayed until authorities finished checking the parking lot with police dogs.

Plans for Tuesday's volleyball competition at the school were not affected, Bauscher said. Students were to return to school today.
