NAMPA — The victim of a shooting that occurred on Thursday in Nampa has died of his injuries, said a Nampa Police Department news release Sunday. Police called the incident a homicide.
James Daniel Chantz, 21, was shot multiple times Thursday evening. Police located him in an apartment in the 300 block of West Orchard Avenue, and he was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
The suspect, Christopher Williams, 21, was arrested Thursday night in Tremonton, Utah, on suspicion of driving under the influence. Police arrested Williams after a vehicle and foot pursuit and charged him with driving under the influence, eluding police and battery.
Following Chantz’s death, additional charges against Williams are pending, as police are considering the incident a homicide.
Williams remains in custody in Utah.
