NAMPA — A person of interest has been cleared by police of any wrongdoing concerning a possible child enticement at a Nampa park.
After responding to a call Thursday about a suspicious person at West Park in Nampa, Nampa Police began investigating the incident as a possible child enticement. According to a press release Thursday from the department, Nampa police believe a man approached a child in the park Monday afternoon and attempted to take the child by the hand before being confronted by an adult and driving away.
In a Friday press release, Nampa Police said they quickly identified and interviewed a person of interest who was cooperative. Following a thorough investigation, the person was cleared of any wrongdoing.
“It is just as important for the Nampa Police Department to identify and apprehend individuals who break the law as it is for us to ensure people are treated fairly and cleared of any wrongdoing,” the department said in a press release.
