NAMPA — According to one company, Nampa is the best city in the country for trick-or-treating this Halloween.
SmartAsset, a financial technology company, named Idaho’s second-largest city the best place for the Halloween tradition based on weather, safety, neighborhood density, affordability and the percentage of children in the population.
“This town of 80,000 has extremely safe streets and enjoys cool, dry autumns,” SmartAsset said of Nampa.
Other cities on the list include Lehi and Orem, Utah; Kennewick, Washington, and Idaho Falls.
SmartAsset also says it’s “essential” to head to the annual Halloween celebration in downtown Nampa before going door-to-door.
This year’s event will take place from 3-5 p.m. Oct. 30. There will be a costume contest, candy, a haunted house and hayrides.
