A 46-year-old Meridian man was sentenced to six years in prison for possession of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho.
James Stewart Maxheimer was found to be in possession of 10,172 images and 378 videos depicting child pornography, including images of infants and children subjected to sadistic and masochistic conduct, according to a plea agreement.
Detectives on the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered and downloaded these images of child pornography from May to June 2016 on Maxheimer’s computer, according to the press release. On July 13, 2016, they received a warrant to search his house. According to the press release, he admitted to downloading images of child pornography and storing them on an external hard drive.
Following Maxheimer’s release from prison, he will serve five years on probation and was ordered to pay $5,100 in special assessments and forfeit the external hard drive and two laptops used in the charged offense.
