A 28-year-old Meridian man died Friday in a single-vehicle crash near Nampa.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound on Cherry Lane when he entered a closed section of the roadway and struck a large piece of equipment, according to an Idaho State Police news release. The man was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene, the release said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
