A Melba man who in December was indicted on sexual abuse charges in Ada County was booked into the Canyon County jail Wednesday on suspicion of four additional sex crimes.
Ronald Manzer, 48, is charged with three counts of sexual battery of a minor child 16 or 17 years old, and one count of lewd conduct with a child younger than 16 years old.
Police believe those crimes took place between September 2012 and January 2017, according to an affidavit of probable cause for his arrest. Police wrote Manzer had subjected the children to “a lifetime of sexual abuse.”
“The sexual abuse occurred so often (the victim) could not provide a specific number of times that she had been molested by Ronald Manzer,” according to the affidavit.
Police claim the abuse only stopped after one of the the victims turned 18 years old and moved away from Manzer.
Manzer appeared in court in Canyon County Thursday, according to the Idaho Supreme Court’s online repository. A judge set his bond at $100,000 and scheduled a preliminary hearing for July 24.
The case runs separately from the charges Manzer was indicted on in December in Ada County. In that case, Manzer has pleaded not guilty to nine felonies — seven counts of sexual abuse of a child younger than 16 years old, and two counts of lewd conduct with a child younger than 16 years old. He is scheduled to appear in court on that case July 30, and his trial is set for Aug. 19.
