...AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM MST
FRIDAY...
* WHAT...An extended period of stagnant air, with light winds
and little vertical mixing.
* WHERE...Portions of south central, southwest and west central
Idaho and northeast and southeast Oregon.
* WHEN...Until 1 PM MST Friday, and this time may be extended.
* IMPACTS...Periods of air stagnation can lead to the buildup of
pollutants near the surface.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will be strong enough today,
Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons in portions of the Upper
Treasure Valley and Western Magic Valley to limit stagnation.
However, parts of the zones will experience stagnant air and
were therefore included in this advisory.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
An Air Stagnation Advisory concerns itself with meteorological

If possible, reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to
air pollution, such as outdoor burning, and the use of
residential wood burning devices. Reduce vehicle trips and
vehicle idling as much as possible.

One man is dead after being shot by a Boise Police Department officer in Meridian on Monday.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., Boise Police officers and Fugitive Recovery Agents from the Idaho Department of Correction were attempting to remove a man from a car and arrest him on felony warrants when the suspect produced a weapon, per a press release from the Boise Police Department.
A BPD officer then shot and struck the suspect, according to BPD. Officers rendered medical aid, but the suspect died on scene.
The incident occurred near Fairview Avenue and Records Way in Meridian.
The Ada County Critical Incident Task force led by the Garden City Police Department is investigating the incident.
The Boise Police Department will also conduct an internal investigation. Additionally, there will be a separate investigation conducted by the City of Boise Office of Police Accountability.
The officer involved in this incident was not physically injured and will be placed on paid administrated leave per department policy, according to BPD.
