NAMPA — Nampa resident Jacob Bower announced he is running for seat 6 on the Nampa City Council in November.

Councilman Bruce Skaug, who previously announced he would not seek re-election, holds seat 6.

Bower was raised in Nampa and moved back with his family after finishing his medical education, eventually starting a chiropractic and physical therapy practice, according to a press release.

"I'm running for Nampa City Council Seat 6 because I believe that the people of Nampa need confident and responsible leaders who are dedicated to directing this community’s growth in the right direction," Bower said in the release.

He served as Nampa’s Lions Club president from 2017-18. Bower said with Nampa's "exponential" growth over the last few years, the city needs "leaders who are determined to stand up for conservative values, proper fiscal management and planning, and responsible growth."
