CALDWELL — In a 2-1 vote Monday afternoon, Canyon County commissioners approved a contract with a Missouri company to build temporary jail housing for female inmates out of stainless steel truck trailers.

The installation and first year of the lease will cost $4.5 million, according to the final contract approved by Commissioners Tom Dale and Pam White. Commissioner Steve Rule voted against the contract.
