BOISE — Ada County Paramedics and the Boise Fire Department on Thursday morning responded to a call for help from a person stranded in the foothills east of the city.

The call came in about 11:15 a.m. from the area of the Three Bears Trail, near Rocky Canyon Road, according to Hadley Mayes, spokeswoman for the Ada County Paramedics. The person stranded, an adult male, was injured, but not critically, she said.

Still, the terrain presented a challenge, so first responders used a ATVs to bring the man to an ambulance. That type of rescue isn’t uncommon for first responders, Mayes said, especially in the spring.
