As Memorial Day approaches, so does the beginning of what has been marked as the 100 deadliest days on Idaho roads.
In an effort to decrease summer crash deaths, Nampa Police is increasing DUI patrols throughout the summer, according to a press release from the department.
“We have partnered with the Idaho Transportation Department, Office of Highway Safety, to enhance our DUI enforcement with extra officers,” said Cpl. Doug Harward, DUI team supervisor for the department. “The extra patrols are funded though grant money from the Idaho OHS and that allows us to remove more impaired drivers from our roadways.”
These extra patrols are planned to coincide with larger events on holiday weekends in the summer, according to the release.
