BOISE — Boise State will hold its spring commencement on May 5 in the Taco Bell Arena.
Last year’s spring commencement was held on the Albertsons Stadium's blue turf for the first time. The return to the arena was prompted by the prospect of weather negatively impacting the experience, postponing the event or even cancelling it outright, according to a Boise State University press release.
The release stated the celebration is too important to risk a cancellation.
This will be the final commencement ceremony for President Bob Kustra and Provost Martin Schimpf, who are both stepping away from their roles this summer, the release said.
During the day of the commencement, the Boise State University Student Union Building will house family-friendly activities and viewing rooms, the release said.
Each graduate will be allotted five tickets for the arena, the release said.
Graduates will receive email updates on the ceremony and other details as the event nears, the release said.
