CALDWELL — The Caldwell Euzkaldunak Charity Organization hosted its 50th annual fundraiser dinner and dance Saturday at the Caldwell Events Center, featuring an authentic Basque dinner, live and silent auctions, and traditional music and dances.

The tradition has taken place each year since 1968.

The event typically draws in almost 600 guests a year and raises roughly $30,000 on average, the group’s secretary, Gina Dowen, previously told the Idaho Press-Tribune.

Tickets were $35 per person, including dinner, or $10 for an entry ticket without dinner. The proceeds help community members with immediate needs, such as power bills or rent. Some of the money has even gone toward eyeglasses and artificial limbs.
