BOISE — Two Nampa men pleaded guilty Tuesday to distributing methamphetamine after selling the drug to a police informant last year.

Johnny Lee Martinez, 33, and Guillermo Farias Jr., 29, admitted they sold methamphetamine to a police informant Feb. 12, 2014, according to a news release from the Idaho U.S. Attorney’s Office.

As part of his plea agreement, Martinez also admitted that he distributed methamphetamine to a second police informant Oct. 24, 2013.

The two men were indicted as co-defendants on Nov. 13, 2014.

Distributing meth is punishable by up to 20 years in prison with a maximum fine of $1 million and a minimum term of three years of supervised release.

Both men are set for sentencing July 20 by Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill.

Martinez and Farias were charged as a result of an investigation by the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crimes Task Force, which focused on the “Norteno” Northside gang that is active in Nampa and other parts of the Treasure Valley.

Fourteen individuals were indicted on drug and gun charges as a result of the investigation. So far, only one defendant has been sentenced. Guadalupe Serrano was sentenced April 21 to more than 6 years in prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and for possessing firearms in furtherance of the drug trafficking crime.

Six others have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing, including Martinez, Farias, 35-year-old Jose Manuel Menchaca, 31-year-old Nicole Danelle Nieto, 31-year-old Brandi Marie Larrea and 30-year-old Tara Noelle Rivera, all from Nampa.

Kenny P. Breedlove, 35, from Porterville, California, has signed a plea agreement and is scheduled to enter his guilty plea in court May 12.

Three others are scheduled for trial including Nampa residents Michael David Bradshaw, 31, and Richard Lobato, 51, as well as Caldwell resident Isaac Bright, 21.

Three other defendants have outstanding warrants, including 51-year-old Jose Enrique Olvera Jr., 36-year-old Ruben Rodriguez and 26-year-old Veronica Cantu, all from Nampa.
