NAMPA — Canyon County deputies arrested Murray Casey Carter, 39, of Nampa, who was wanted on multiple felony domestic violence warrants, Thursday morning following a standoff that lasted for several hours. 

The sheriff's office received an anonymous tip at about 2 a.m. Thursday that Carter was staying at a residence on the 1600 block of Primrose Drive in Nampa, according to a news release from the agency. When deputies arrived at the residence, the homeowner told them that Carter had barricaded himself in the attic and was refusing to come out.

Officers at the scene made multiple attempts to communicate with Carter and negotiate his surrender, but the sheriff's office said he refused to cooperate. The Canyon County SWAT team was called into assist and help secure the perimeter and surrounding houses. Carter eventually surrendered at about 7:15 a.m. and was booked into the Canyon County jail on multiple outstanding warrants.

Additional charges are pending. The incident remains under investigation.
