NAMPA — The Canyon County Sheriff's Office reported that a fugitive who escaped from the Canyon County Detention Center Oct. 23 was arrested at about 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials said Eric Lee Dominguez was located and taken into custody in Nampa. The US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, made up of representatives from the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Nampa Police Department have led the investigation and have been working around the clock to locate and apprehend Dominguez.
On Wednesday, investigators from the Marshal’s Task Force learned Dominguez was hiding at a residence in south Nampa. Officers from several agencies including the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, the Treasure Valley Metro Violent Crime and Gang Task Force; and the City County Narcotics Unit responded to assist in the operation. Investigators requested the assistance of the Nampa Police Department and the Nampa Police Department Tactical Response Team.
The TRT was activated and deployed at the suspect location. The residence, located at 21st Ave South and 1st Street South, was surrounded and the TRT made contact with Dominguez inside the residence. After a short standoff, Dominguez surrendered and was taken into custody without incident, officials said.
