A new health and fitness center developed by three-time Olympic gold medalist Kristin Armstrong is opening next week in Ten Mile Crossing.
PIVOT Lifestyle + Fitness by KA opens June 11 at 808 S. Vanguard Way in Meridian. The 10,000-square-foot, membership-based health and fitness center includes indoor cycling, hot yoga, restorative yoga and functional training. It also has wellness services, including personal training, health, nutritional and mental-health coaching.
The Ten Mile Crossing location is the first of four PIVOT centers slated to open in the Treasure Valley. The other locations to be opened in the next three to 10 months include Pioneer Crossing in downtown Boise, Barber Station in southeast Boise, and Eagle View at Eagle and Overland roads.
“Improving corporate and individual health has always been a passion of mine and the building of this facility is a realization of a long-time vision,” Armstrong said in a release from PIVOT. “Our mission is to foster a community environment and sense of belonging where people are personally empowered to achieve their goals.”
Ten Mile Crossing is being developed by Ball Ventures Ahlquist, or BVA, and Brighton Corporation. BVA CEO Tommy Ahlquist is a former emergency room physician. As a physician he treated over 45,000 patients, the release said.
“Our health is often taken for granted and … a holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle is critical for individuals, families and communities,” Ahlquist said in the release.
David Turnbull, CEO of Brighton Corporation, said for years he has admired Armstrong’s determination and her “dedication to helping others share her passion for health and wellness.”
