MERIDIAN — The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine in Meridian has launched a national search for its next dean and chief academic officer.
The college, Idaho’s first medical school, will wrap up its first school year May 31. Founding Dean and Chief Academic Officer Robert Hasty is leaving his post to help start another medical school, though he hasn’t announced where.
The search committee includes ICOM leaders and faculty and external leaders in the osteopathic medical field. Students, staff and other stakeholders will also be involved during the interview process, according to a press release from the college.
In the meantime, Kevin Wilson, associate dean of clinical affairs, is serving as the college’s interim dean and chief academic officer.
The new school year will start Aug. 5. The search will continue until an appointment is made, according to the college.
