Two Meridian FFA members were named junior and senior princess of the 70th Meridian Dairy Days Princess Pageant.

Judges crowned Nani McKague senior princess and Claire Shelton junior princess at the pageant, held June 19 at the Courtyard Marriott in Meridian.

McKague is a 16-year-old sophomore at Meridian High School. She is an active member of the Meridian FFA Chapter and the Crafty Critters 4-H Club. She owns her own meat goat and beef cattle business.

Shelton is a 15-year-old sophomore at Centennial High School. She is an active member of the Meridian FFA Chapter and a part of the Sweet Liberty Dance team.

There were 11 contestants in the pageant, ranging in age from 13 to 17.

The junior contestants were:

n Kennedy Cox of Meridian

n Bailey Davies of Meridian

n Josie Gregg of Meridian

n Nani McKague of Meridian

n Otilia Lopez of Boise

The girls had to participate in an interview, give a prepared speech, and give an impromptu answer to a question.

All of the contestants plan to participate in county fairs this summer.
