The Meridian Cemetery Maintenance District is looking for applicants for a board vacancy.

The MCMD board of commissioners manages the business and affairs of the district, and works to improve and maintain the district. The board consists of three elected officials representing three subdivisions, or zones.

The successful candidate will complete a term ending December 2019 and will be eligible to run for reelection for the following four-year terms.

Current Commissioner and Board Chairwoman Laura Wilder, who has served with the district since December 2011, is vacating her seat. Applicants must live in the second zone of the district to apply.

The district was founded in 1878 and became the Meridian Cemetery Maintenance District in 1934. The cemetery grounds consist of property held and maintained for voters of the special taxing district, composed of properties within Ada County, Meridian and Boise.
