The Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County

Auto group Lyle Pearson donated $11,100 to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County on June 11 during a luncheon at the Hillcrest Country Club.

Auto group Lyle Pearson donated $11,100 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County as part of their Lyle Pearson – Mercedes-Benz Golf Championship.

The group began using the golf championship as a fundraiser for the nonprofit in 2007. The funds were presented by Travis Brandenburgh, chief operating officer; Chris Simmons, service director and Dave Kerns, sales manager, during a luncheon at the Hillcrest Country Club on June 11. This year, Lyle Pearson is celebrating their 50th year.

The nonprofit will use the donation to keep its membership fees low. Jodi Davis-Gempler, director of development for the clubs, said while Boys & Girls Clubs charges $25 per school year to participate in its program, the program costs the organization $2,000 per child.

“We keep membership fees low so that all children can afford to attend the club,” she said over email.

Since the inception of the golf championship, Lyle Pearson has raised over $125,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County, according to Colleen Braga, executive director of the nonprofit.

“Lyle Pearson has been a long-standing and valued company partner, and we are honored by their on-going commitment to our kids,” Braga said in a release from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. “... Their commitment to help low-income kids is second to none.”
