Over 250 Boys & Girls Club members floated around Roaring Springs’ Endless River on Wednesday during the Hope Float.
The float kicked off the 19th annual Great Dolphin Dunk, a month-long sales campaign to raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. This year’s goal is to raise $30,000, a release from Roaring Springs Waterpark said.
In the past 18 years the Great Dolphin Dunk has raised over $880,000 in cash and in-kind donations for the nonprofit.
The Boys & Girls Clubs provides support to over 4,500 children, including academic support, healthy meals and a safe place to go after school and in the summer.
From July 3 to Aug. 11, people can buy toy dolphins at Roaring Springs Waterpark for $3. At noon Aug. 11 10,000 toy dolphins will be dropped in Roaring Springs’ Endless River for a race to the finish. This year’s Great Dolphin Dunk prizes are:
n First place – Roaring Springs 2018/2019 season passes for four
n Second place – $500 cash donated by Bent Nail Inspections
n Third place – Free Idaho Pizza Company pizza for one year and a paddleboard
All proceeds of the Dolphin Dunk will go to Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County. Roaring Springs will also give one free waterpark ticket to club members for every 25 dolphins they sell.
