CALDWELL — After several rounds of debate between school board members and residents, Caldwell School Board members voted 3-2 Monday night to retain the board’s membership with the Idaho School Board Association.

Trustees Leif Skyving and Amy Rojas cast dissenting votes at the contentious meeting, which often included terse exchanges between Skyving and Chairman Charles Stout. Skyving made the motion for the board to discontinue its membership with ISBA at a July meeting, saying the $10,000 paid to the association each year could be better spent elsewhere in the district.
