The Melba Mustangs put up big numbers late in the game on Friday in their season opener against West Jefferson, defeating the Panthers 42-18.

Playing at home, Melba scored 26 points in the second half, including 20 points in the fourth quarter alone, the Post Register reported. The Mustangs led 16-12 at halftime.

Melba will hit the road this week, playing at Homedale at 7 p.m. on Friday.
