Kuna wrestling claims 4A District III Champions title

BOYS BASKETBALL

Kuna defeated Ridgevue 64-54 Feb. 16 moving them one step closer to their goal of playing in the state championships in early March. Until then, the Kavemen are scheduled to play Vallivue Tuesday, Feb. 19 for their last home game of the season.

Other upcoming district games Kuna is scheduled to play in are Feb. 20-21 and 23. Opponents and times are to be announced. Games are away.

Melba is scheduled to play New Plymouth Tuesday, Feb. 19 in district competition at Melba High School.

WRESTLING

Kuna High School wrestlers edged out their rival, Columbia, this weekend for the title of 4A district champions.

The Columbia wrestling team had eight individual champions Saturday, Feb. 16 at the 4A District III tournament, but Kuna qualified one more wrestler for the state tournament and edged out the Wildcats for the team title.

Michael Mitchell (113 pounds), Dante Roggio (132) and Malakai Moyer (152) picked up individual titles for Kuna. The Kavemen added six second-place finishes, three third-place finishes and three fourth-place finishes, beating the Wildcats 440.5-404.5.
