WILDER 14, MELBA (JV) 8, 3 INNINGS: Anthony Ortivez and Everardo Aguilar each had two hits and three RBIs, as the Wildcats (2-1, 1-0 WIC) picked up a nonleague win.

BASEBALL

MELBA 9, PARMA 8: The Mustangs needed all of a four-run lead late to hold off the Panthers in a nonleague game.

In the decisive third inning, Melba pushed in four runs behind a Kaleb Zavala double. An error also allowed two runs.

SOFTBALL

MELBA 16-22, PARMA 0-6: The Mustangs had little resistance in the nonleague sweep.

Esther Riley had seven hits and six RBI in the doubleheader to lead Melba.

MELBA 18, GLENNS FERRY 2

Tim Reinertson did the opposing team no favors on Friday, picking up four hits over four at bats and leading Melba Mustangs Varsity to a win over Glenns Ferry. Reinertson singled in the first, tripled in the second, singled in the third, and homered in the fourth.

Melba Mustangs Varsity secured the victory thanks to 11 runs in the first inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Caleb Storaci, Reinertson, and Kaleb Zavala, an error on a ball put in play by Henry Clark, Mark Stradley, and Abe Riley, doubles by Zavala and Clark, and a walk by Riley.

MARCH 13

KUNA JVB SOFTBALL FALLS TO PAYETTE

The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where Payette came out on top against Lady Kavemen, 12-10.

The Lady Kavemen scored three runs in the top of the second, but Payette answered with three of their own. The Kavemen scored when Izzy Irish doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Amanda White doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run, and Maddie Lovelady grounded out, scoring one run.

Payette took the lead for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Points singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

BASEBALL

MELBA 10, HOMEDALE 7

Drew Deal and Tommy Muir led the Mustangs with two hits each in the nonleague win.

Deal also had two RBI. Mason Kincheloe pitched four innings, striking out four while allowing three runs.
