Dear Editor:

The Kuna Senior Citizens Center proudly serves older residents of our community as a place for fellowship, recreation and meals. While a growing dues-paying membership (over 125) annual dues support our open days (Mon-Wed-Fri) and activities, the Center also receives gracious support, grants and donations. As we review our mid-year financials, we acknowledge key community contributions making this a great place for seniors by seniors.

We are grateful for the long-time support from the City of Kuna for our building and landscaping. This past week, the City Council and Mayor Joe Stear approved a long-term annual grant to fund Center operations as well as service expansion of the Kuna Senior Center bus. These funds expand the other public support we receive from the Area Agency on Aging.

Local support for the bus this year includes funds raised by local service clubs — the American Legion Post 142, Kuna Lions and Kuna Rotary Club.

Our dues-paying members also provide contributions and donations to the Kuna Senior Center operations in the form of goods, food, supplies and money for activities and refreshments.

Again, those of us who use the Center are grateful to live in a community with such generous and solid support. Please stop by for a cup of coffee, pool, bingo, pinochle or just to see what goes on inside.
