‘Tis the season of lighted Christmas trees, meeting Santa and other traditions that Kuna and Melba communities will host to ring in the Christmas holiday.
Christmas in Melba is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Children and families can visit Santa from 6:30-7:45 p.m. at the Tower Theater, 301 Randolph Drive.
A live nativity performance is planned for 7-7:45 p.m. at Owyhee BBQ, 207 Fourth St. Event attendees will also likely see Clyde the Camel somewhere in downtown Melba.
The community Christmas tree lighting will be 8 p.m. at the corner of Carrie Rex and Fourth Street.
Kuna’s celebration “Old Fashioned Christmas,” the annual Down Home Country Christmas, follows on Saturday, Dec. 8. Santa will greet children and families in the Old Fourth Street Gym, 571 W. Fourth St. from 1-4 p.m.
The Lion’s Club is holding their annual Chili Feed in the Community Hall, 360 W. Main St., starting around 4 p.m. It will continue throughout the night until 8 p.m.
The traditional “night light” parade is at 6 p.m. and will follow a route from Bernie Fisher Park, west on Main Street to Avenue D. After the parade, around 6:30 p.m., residents can gather at Bernie Fisher Park, 201 W. Main St., near the bandshell for the Christmas tree lighting.
