Project Impact STEM Academy broke ground for its new school Saturday, May 19.

The new charter school is at 2275 W. Hubbard Rd., near Arbor Ridge Subdivision. It was previously to be located at 9085 S. Ten Mile Rd.

Project Impact STEM Academy, commonly called PiSA, is planned to open fall 2018. It was approved by the Idaho Charter Commission in January.

Plans for the school buildings include portable classrooms and office space.

The projected enrollment, according to PiSA’s website ( is 297 students. The charter school is still looking to hire some elementary school teachers.
