During today’s House floor session, both House Speaker Scott Bedke, R-Oakley, and Rep. John McCrostie, D-Boise, spoke in verse, adopting the form of a limerick to ask unanimous consent to waive full reading of a bill. Here’s the limerick Bedke offered:
“I think we have nothing to fear
If the bill’s language we do not hear.
So I hope you’ll concur
To House Rules we’ll defer,
And we can proceed with good cheer.
“There’s really no need to object,
For we all can agree I suspect.
So avoid the commotion,
Approve of this motion,
And treat the debate with respect.”
