The mayoral race for Boise now has seven candidates, Idaho Press reporter Margaret Carmel reported this afternoon. Rebecca Arnold, president of the Ada County Highway District commission, has filed paperwork to run for Boise's highest office.
She was first elected in 2004. According to the filing, she elected to pay a $40 fee instead of collecting the required five signatures of registered voters necessary to declare candidacy.
She joins incumbent Mayor Dave Bieter, City Council President Lauren McLean, former mayor Brent Coles, Adriel Martinez, Cortney Nielsen and Wayne Richey in the race. You can read Carmel's full report here at idahopress.com.
