It’s Election Day in Idaho, with municipal elections taking place today across the state. Polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. – it’s time to vote! There’s voter information for Ada County online here, and for Canyon County online here. At my polling place this morning, business was brisk but there were no lines.
Boise is having its biggest city election in years, with hotly contested races for mayor and three City Council seats, plus two propositions on the ballot. Mayor and council races are on the ballot in cities including Eagle, Meridian and Star; and there’s a smattering of other issues and races around the Treasure Valley as well, from a Nampa school levy to a Star Fire District bond to several school board races.
Still have questions about the issues and where the candidates stand? Our 20-page Election Guide 2019 has the answers — including, in their own words, candidates’ responses to questions about everything from their background, qualifications and priorities to such issues as growth, transportation and housing affordability. You can see it online here; it was Section E in the Oct. 27 Sunday/Monday edition of the Idaho Press.
