DMV line

The line at the Ada County DMV stretches out the door on Sept. 14, 2018.

Idahoans can now skip the line at the DMV and renew their driver’s license online, the Idaho Transportation Department announced Thursday. The new website, Drive Idaho, allows people to renew and purchase their plates and driver’s licenses online, along with other services such as updating an address.

The online service comes after computer problems at county DMVs created long lines and shutdowns of offices last summer.

“Our new online services page, Drive Idaho, brings all of the new and existing DMV’s online services into one, easy-to-navigate page,” DMV administrator Alberto Gonzalez said in a news release.
