Bogus Basin summer activities

Bogus Basin, the non-profit ski and summer resort 16 miles north of Boise, is launching its free “Music on the Mountain” summer concert series this Saturday, with two Boise bands, Gipsy Moonrise and Lucid Aisle, and Seattle band Bodies on the Beach performing in the Simplot base area from noon to 6 p.m. All three performed at Treefort this year. There’ll also be food and beverage sales, and a fresh fruit giveaway at 3 p.m. Bogus today also announced it’s offering free yoga twice a week, each Wednesday at 6 p.m. and each Sunday at 10 a.m., on the Simplot Base Area lawn, taught by instructors from Shine Yoga Collective.

“We are ready for a great 4th of July weekend at Bogus Basin,” said General Manager Brad Wilson. “Right now, the wildflowers are in full bloom, and mountain temperatures are fantastic. It’s a great time to come up and enjoy everything that the mountain has to offer.”

The resort also features an Alpine coaster, mountain biking, hiking, scenic chairlift rides and other summer activities; it’s open seven days a week.

Bogus also released the lineup for the other four upcoming Music on the Mountain concerts this summer, a series that’s sponsored by 10 Barrel Brewing:

July 20: Foxxtones, from San Francisco; Rory Van James from Seattle; and American Mile from Los Angeles

Aug. 3: Zero, from Boise; Voice of Reason, from Boise; and Mega Ran from Seattle

Aug. 17: Bread & Circus, New Transit and Sea’s Apprentice, all from Boise
