Prepare early to enter Gem/Boise Rodeo events

Sign ups for local participation in the Gem/Boise County Rodeo are fast approaching. The Thursday evening, August 1 rodeo will feature entirely local youth in ten events. Mutton bustin’ and local barrel racing will also be featured during the ICA rodeo performances on August 2 and 3.

Registrations for all of those opportunities will be held July 16 through the 18. Entries are done by PHONE CALL ONLY!!

Youth Rodeo (August 1) Thursday:

Mutton Bustin’ 4-6 Years $25

Jr Team Roping 6-14 years $25

Jr Steer Riding 10-14 $45

Jr Calf Riding 7-9 years $25

Goat Tying 6-14 years $15

Pole Bending 6-18 $25

Team roping and Barrel Racing events will actually have a qualifying round of competition on Sunday, July 21.

4D Barrel Race qualifying will be at 10 a.m. on July 21. Registration and time runs will be offered from 8 – 9:30 a.m. prior to the qualifying races, The top two competitors in each division will advance to compete n either Friday or Saturday night of the ICA Gem/Boise Rodeo.

Team Roping signups are at 5 p.m., on July 21 with the roping competitions beginning at 6 p.m. Top ten teams qualify to rope in August 2 and 3 performances of the Gem/Boise Rodeo.
