Eight candidates for School Trustee will be available to meet patrons of the Emmett Independent School District at a public forum at 6:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 18 at the Emmett Middle School auditorium.

Three positions — half of the school board — are being contested in the Nov. 2 General Election. Successful candidates will take office in January 2022.

Each candidate will be available to meet and greet patrons before and after the formal forum. During the forum each candidate will be provided an opportunity to share their reason for declaring candidacy for the position and what they envision for the future of Emmett Schools.

A moderated question and answer session will address questions provided by the audience and by Messenger Index readers. Written questions will be accepted during the forum. Questions can also be submitted in advance to the Messenger Index at until noon on Monday, Oct. 18

Written candidate responses to some questions will appear in the Oct. 20 Messenger Index.
