For the first time in its 15 year history, Ride Idaho will be coming through Gem County on its annual week-long bicycle excursion. The trip through the county is quick but it will include an overnight stay for many of the bikers on Tuesday evening, July 16.
About 200 riders are expected to camp in Emmett City Park overnight as the mid-way point for this years ride. Bikers will be coming to Emmett on Tuesday from an overnight stay in Crouch and will leave Wednesday morning for the next leg that will take them to the Snake River.
This is the third time in the history of the Ride Idaho organization that southwestern Idaho has been showcased but the first time Emmett has been on the route.
