A rejuvenation of adult exercise stations in Emmett City Park began this past week as members of the Emmett Lions club began the installation of nine new features on the east side of the park.
The weather resistant exercise stations will replace wooden workout benches and features that have been in place for years and have worn out. The new equipment will offer a wider range of exercises and be adaptable to a broader range of therapeutic and strength building motions. The stations are geared for seniors as well as other ages.
Funding for the new stations was made possible by grants from the Idaho Community Foundation and the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health.
Lions members removed the old stations, dug holes for concreting anchors for the new equipment on Aug. 24 and have been completing assembly during the past week.
