The Emmett High School drama team will be sending seven teams or acts to the IHSAA State Drama Championships, Dec. 3 and 4 at Centennial High School in Boise.

The Emmett program had 24 groups participating at Districts and collectively earned the District III second place trophy. This was the first in-person tournament competition since 2019.

EHS drama coordinator Alex Barrett said that “it was a tough competition this year. I’m especially proud of the leadership of our juniors and seniors and the willingness of the freshmen in the class to come experience the highs and lows that competition has to offer.”

Of the seven State qualifiers, three are freshman.

Taking their acts to State are:

Solo Serious: Larissah Curtis, Kess Hunter

Technical Makeup: Deni Allen and Emma Burr, alternate LeAuna Rowley

Solo Humorous: Griffin Arnett

Technical Props: Dallan Madsen

Ensemble Serious: Larissah Curtis, Halle Hart and Serenity Kroeker-Hickman

Original Humorous: Abi Church and Riley Buck, alternates Dane Madsen and Bree Anderson.
