Dog Dads

Dear DD:

Congratulations on your new pup! That is always an exciting thing to welcome a fur bébé into your home and your heart. I would normally suggest you name the dog after me, but your new dog is a good boy and not a fabulous goddess, like myself. My rule for naming dogs is small dogs get big, long, ridiculous names and big dogs get short, sassy names. My late Pomerhuahua was named Prince Romeo Elvis Angelpie Schnookums Van Allen. Huge name for a tiny floof. How about naming your pooch “Conway?” It is interesting, uncommon and what I would name an opossum (if I had one). Since you are getting him from Utah, consider spelling it “Connweigh.” That will get a laugh every time! If you still aren’t sure, wait to get him home and see what his little personality is like. I bet he’ll give you some good hints on what his name should be. Good luck!
