Scott and Laura Spencer created the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic in 1991. This Boise tradition is now almost 30 years old and for anyone who looked up to the skies these past few mornings, a delightful treat to behold.
This year the Spirit is five days long and, great news for those who want to check it out, there's still time. Tonight at 5:30 p.m., there's a Nite Glow Spectacular, where the balloons are aglow and put on a synchronized light show at Ann Morrison Park. The evening also includes music, food and festivities.
Saturday Sept. 4 features Dawn Patrol, where the balloons glimmer in the early morning before sunrise at 6 a.m., followed by a launch at 7:20 a.m. Sunday Sept. 5 the launch also starts at 7:20 a.m. The event is free and people can get more information at spiritofboise.com or by following the Spirit on Facebook or Instagram.
