The ever popular cocktail comes in many forms. The word cocktail and the definition of it as a drink was first seen in a book titled "The Balance and Columbian Repository" in 1806 and the early ingredients consisted of bitters, water, sugar and spirits. Nowadays, a cocktail can contain almost anything and bars are always coming up with new concoctions to tempt people into giving it a try. Western Proper, located at 610 W. Idaho St., in downtown Boise, has a lot of different beverages but one of its tastiest (and prettiest) signature cocktails is the PNW Summer. It's a mixture of vodka, lemon juice, blackberry ginger syrup and pineapple juice that's garnished with a sparkly glittery orchid. At $13, it's a little pricey but it's not the most expensive drink on the menu. Western Proper also has more than just tasty drinks, the business also serves up beer, weekend brunch and dinner. There's even an arcade and bowling for those that like to have a little grown-up fun when sipping on a libation. It's open Monday to Thursday 3- 10 p.m., Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the weekends. For more information people can go to westernproper.com.
