BOISE — After a sold-out run in 2011, Broadway in Boise brought the musical “Wicked” back to the Morrison Center stage. Throughout the 17 days the show’s cast will be in Boise, they will perform a record 24 shows.
The musical, set in the Land of Oz, tells the story of two very different witches, Elphaba and Glinda. The girls struggle with life, a blossoming friendship and deep differences that transform one into the Wicked Witch of the West and the other into Glinda the Good. Fan favorite songs like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “No One Mourns the Wicked” will be featured.
The musical first debuted on Broadway in 2003 and won three Tony Awards in 2004. Since its opening, it has won more than 50 major awards.
