Boise State is heading to the NCAA tournament. The Broncos are the No. 13 seed in the West Region and play No. 13 seed La Salle on Wednesday in a first-round game in Dayton, Ohio.

The game will tipoff at 7:10 p.m. (MST) and will be televised on truTV.

The at-large selection is the first in Boise State history. The Broncos have played in five previous NCAA tournaments after winning Big Sky or WAC tournament championships. Their last tournament appearance was in 2008.

The Broncos (21-10) lost in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament to San Diego State on Wednesday. The Broncos defeated the Aztecs four days earlier to finish the regular season 14-1 at Taco Bell Arena.

Colorado State (No. 8 seed), San Diego State (No. 7 seed), UNLV (No. 5 seed), New Mexico (No. 3 seed) and Boise State give the Mountain West Conference a record five teams in the tournament.

Skyview High graduate Kyle Dranginis and Gonzaga received the No. 1 seed in the West Region. The Bulldogs play Southern on Thursday in Salt Lake City.

Vallivue High graduate Will Bogan and No. 14 Valparaiso will play third-seeded Michigan State on Thursday in Auburn Hills, Mich.
