Pierce Hornung had 23 points and 13 rebounds as Colorado State extended its home winning streak to 25, defeating Boise State 77-57 Wednesday night.

It was the third double-double of the season and ninth of Hornung’s career. He also moved past Jason Smith into sixth place all-time at Colorado State with 691 rebounds.

Dorian Green added 12 points and Wes Eikmeier had 10 for the Rams (17-4, 4-2 Mountain West), who have the nation’s fourth-longest home winning streak and last lost in Fort Collins on Nov. 19, 2011 to Southern Mississippi.

Mikey Thompson scored 13 points and Anthony Drmic had 12 for Boise State (14-6, 2-4), which lost for the fourth time in five games.

Derrick Marks, who averages 17 points a game, had flu-like symptoms and played only nine minutes for the Broncos.

Boise State women fall to CSU on late bucket: Erica Martinez and Kayla Reinhart combined for 29 points but it was not enough for Boise State as the Broncos lost 57-56 at home to Colorado State on Wednesday.

Colorado State’s Hayley Thompson hit a game-winning jumper with 5 seconds to play to end the Broncos’ five-game home winning streak. Martinez had 15 points, while Reinhart had 14 for Boise State (10-9, 3-3).

BSU swimmer honored by Mountain West: Boise State sophomore Jessica Bottelberghe was named Mountain West Swimmer of the Week for meets contested Jan. 22-27. It is Bottelberghe’s first weekly honor.

Bottelberghe racked up four individual event wins and two more relay victories during Boise State’s weekend trip to Colorado.
